First Holy Communion
The Sacrament of First Holy Communion is a deeply meaningful step in a child’s faith journey, receiving the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ for the first time. Preparation for First Communion begins in second grade, following the celebration of First Reconciliation. Children will use the Blessed: First Communion program, which includes engaging lessons, videos, and reflections to help them grow in their understanding of the Eucharist. A retreat is held in the spring to help students and families prepare for the sacrament together. First Holy Communion is typically celebrated in May during the second grade year. Children must be registered for sacramental preparation through Mary, Mother of God AFC. Stay tuned for more information about lesson due dates, retreat details, and the date of the First Communion Mass. |
