Your Child’s First Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Reconciliation, also known as Confession or Penance, is a powerful sign of God's mercy and love for each of us. It is typically first received in second grade but can be celebrated at any time. Reconciliation is required before receiving First Holy Communion. Preparation begins in second grade. Children preparing for the sacrament will use the Blessed: First Reconciliation program, which includes engaging lessons, stories, and videos to help them understand the beauty of God's forgiveness. First Reconciliation is celebrated in January during the second grade year. Children must be registered for sacramental preparation through Mary, Mother of God AFC. Stay tuned for more details about lesson due dates and the celebration of the Sacrament of First Reconciliation. |
